Wolf Creek Care Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate
Director of Nursing (DON)
to lead our nursing department and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence. This is a key leadership role for a confident RN who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about quality care, staff development, and regulatory excellence.
Position Overview The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing operations and staff while ensuring exceptional resident care, safety, and compliance. This role provides both strategic leadership and hands‑on clinical support, working closely with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the entire nursing department, including staffing and scheduling
Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with nursing policies and procedures
Promote resident safety, dignity, and high‑quality care at all times
Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff
Provide clinical education and in‑services to support staff development
Coordinate MDS processes, care planning, and pharmacy services
Serve as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and leadership
Oversee departmental budgeting, reporting, and regulatory readiness
Participate in QA, utilization review, care conferences, and state surveys
Stay current on regulatory changes and ensure facility‑wide compliance
Provide direct resident care as needed and support interdisciplinary collaboration
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
BSN preferred
Minimum of 7 years of nursing leadership/management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of long‑term care regulations and survey processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PointClickCare (PCC)
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
