Senior Test Engineer

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the quality and test strategy across complex, distributed software systems. You will design and implement automated testing frameworks for user interfaces, APIs, and backend services, ensuring high reliability, scalability, and seamless customer experiences. Accountabilities
Define and own the quality and testing strategy for frontend, backend, and data pipelines
Develop and maintain robust automated test suites using TypeScript for UI (Playwright), API/contract (REST/GraphQL, Pact), and event streams (Kafka)
Implement CI/CD quality gates, including parallelized test suites, flaky‑test detection, test impact analysis, and fast feedback loops
Expand non‑functional testing coverage: performance/load, resiliency, reliability SLOs, accessibility (WCAG), and basic security/OWASP checks
Build deterministic test data sets, mocks, service virtualization, and cloud‑native ephemerally environments to increase repeatability and speed
Collaborate with engineers and product teams to design for testability, prevent defects, and ensure high‑quality customer experiences
Integrate and validate AI‑driven services, establishing evaluation datasets, bias checks, and offline/online metrics
Mentor engineers on testing best practices, code reviews, debugging, and observability‑driven testing
Instrument tests and systems for telemetry, analyze failures, reduce flakiness, and continuously optimize execution time and coverage
Document test plans, quality architecture, and workflows to align teams on testing strategies
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in software quality or test engineering, with proven experience supporting customer‑facing production products
Strong TypeScript automation experience and ability to build and maintain automated tests
Hands‑on UI automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
Experience testing backend systems and REST APIs
Solid manual QA foundation, including exploratory testing, regression strategy, and defect triage
Experience with automation in CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments (AWS preferred)
Familiarity with maintaining automation at scale across multiple releases
Experience with C# or Java is a plus
Advanced English level required for effective collaboration with global teams
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and mentoring colleagues
