The Investment Operations Technology Program Manager is responsible for leading complex technological initiatives that support Investment Operations & Fund Treasury driving operational efficiency and enabling strategic business objectives. This role combines project management expertise with program-level oversight, ensuring successful delivery of initiatives, smooth staff transitions, and alignment with organizational priorities.

This role is on-site in San Francisco Monday–Thursday with flexibility to work from home on Fridays.

Responsibilities: Project & Program Management

Lead technology projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Drive Planning Increment (PI) activities, including backlog prioritization, dependency management, and risk mitigation.

Own Quarterly PI objectives setup, presentation, and reporting.

Partner with tech leads, sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet business needs and compliance standards.

Track progress against milestones, proactively escalate risks, and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.

Manage resources and timelines across multiple concurrent projects.

Facilitate effective communication across teams, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Demonstrates the ability to think independently and translate strategic goals and initiatives into tactical, detailed, actionable steps. Has a results-oriented mindset.

Governance & Oversight

Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks, including documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements.

Maintain project artifacts such as charters, roadmaps, and transition plans.

Accountable for departmental service delivery process, metrics, and reporting

Facilitate monthly department meetings.

Monitor KPIs and success metrics to evaluate projects/department performance.

Provide regular updates to leadership and sponsors on project status, risks, and dependencies.

Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies promptly.

Transition & Staff Oversight

Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for staff transitions, maintaining continuity of portfolio management activities.

Coordinate transition plans to ensure knowledge transfer and minimize disruption to operations.

Support workforce planning, role alignment, and resource allocation during transitions.

Partner team leads to ensure smooth integration of new staff and effective offboarding of departing staff

Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with business partners, sponsors, and cross-functional teams.

Facilitate PI workshops, planning sessions, and retrospectives to align stakeholders and drive outcomes.

Serve as liaison to Enterprise PMO teams and other IT/Business Program leadership teams.

Basic Qualifications:

7 years of experience in project and program management in the financial services industry, preferably in capital markets/investment management domain

7 years of experience with risk identification and mitigation

7 years of experience with Microsoft Office Professional, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project as well as Visio

Bachelor's degree and 7 years project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP, SAFe, or equivalent certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, PI planning, and portfolio management practices.

Experience building Jira and Confluence dashboards and basic SQL a plus

Knowledge of Investment Operations functions within a top tier asset manager or service provider preferred.

Self-starter who can work in ambiguous environment and adjust to changing business needs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to multiple audiences.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.

Familiarity with transition planning, onboarding/offboarding processes, and workforce management.

Experience with project management tools such as: Clarizen, Planview, MS Project, Jira Big Picture, etc.

Build and strengthen key partnerships across the organization.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Actual salary will depend on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, market and work location. The client offers benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The salary for this position in San Francisco Bay Area is $160,000 - $180,000 USD.
