Full-Time Nanny Manager– One School-age Child - Lincoln Park (Moving Within the City)
Start Date: Early January 2026
Tentative Schedule: Monday–Friday,11:30 AM–7:30 PM with a few additional hours offered each month.
Guaranteed Hours: Family will guarantee weekly hours
Compensation: $32-$35/hr.DOE plus PTO
A warm and welcoming family is seeking a proactive, energetic, organized, and patient full-time nanny manager to care for their school-aged child and keep their household running smoothly. Their child is active, kind, and thrives with caregivers who are calm, engaging, and able to keep up with a busy after-school routine. The ideal nanny manager will be familiar with the Chicago area, comfortable navigating a family move within the city, and excited to help the child settle into local activities and programs.
Childcare Responsibilities
After-school pickup Monday–Friday
Transport child to activities, playdates, and outings (nanny must drive and use their own vehicle)
Research and identify local activities, programs, and events—family is new to the area and values a nanny who is proactive and resourceful
Engage child in fun, age-appropriate activities; provide consistent structure and support
Prepare snacks and simple dinners; ensure kitchen and child-related areas are tidied after use
Assist with bath time as part of the evening routine
Provide additional hours for date nights and on days when the child is off school (with advance notice)
Occasionally care for the child overnight with advance notice
Maintain a calm, patient, and warm approach while supporting the child’s active nature
Comfortable working in a home where parents may occasionally work from home
House manager Responsibilities
Organizing the home (pantry, closets, playroom, mudroom, etc.)
Tidying common areas and maintaining general order
Help oversee routines and household flow
Schedule appointments (doctor, dentist, car maintenance, home vendors)
Prepping items for the next day (school bags, activities, snacks)
Family laundry (washing, folding, putting away)
Light household errands such as:
Grocery shopping
Post office/returns
Pharmacy pickups
Manage household inventory (restocking household items, tracking supplies, kids’ essentials)
Receiving and overseeing household vendors (cleaners, maintenance, repair appointments)
Qualifications
Prior experience working with school-aged children and house management
Background in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred
CPR certified
Must drive and be willing to use own car for transportation (mileage reimbursed offered)
Strong knowledge of the Chicago area
Fluent English
Comfortable with a family relocation within the city (move will be nearby)
Trustworthy, reliable, and able to model positive behavior and values for the child
Bonus: Comfortable traveling with the family
