Job Description

Laundry Supervisor Basic Function and Responsibility: Performs assigned tasks associated with laundry including washing, drying and pressing of items such as tablecloths, napkins, and employee uniforms. Sanitation and neatness of laundry area and equipment is part of the daily routine. Moderately heavy lifting is necessary. Characteristic Duties: Participates in the washing, drying, and pressing of linens and uniforms. Checks linens and uniforms for stains and damages and checks with supervisor for necessary action. Operates washers, dryers, and pressers according to instructions and follows proper use of detergents and cleaning solvents. Counts, handles, and wraps linen items as directed. Maintains neatness, sanitation and safety of laundry area and equipment as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Supervision Received: Reports to Laundry Supervisor. Supervision Exercised: May assist in monitoring student employees. Hiring Range: $26.48/hr to $29.42/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience. Requirements

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional relevant experience may substitute for education. Previous experience is helpful. Incumbent can be trained on the job. Needs to work effectively in a high volume and fast-paced environment. Must be able to read and write English. Work effectively in a fast-paced operation with diverse staff. Have good interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift moderately heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on an on-going basis. Closing Statement
