Ensures all staff has attended standard guest service and safety training programs· Assists with hiring, training, and managing personnel, including department heads· Ensure all groups have appropriate items to include, but not limited to:· Vouchers· Rooming lists· Billed appropriately· Support restaurant operations by collaborating with the Food & Beverage team to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient staffing, and adherence to health and safety standards.· Assists with ensuring all cash is secured, deposits are made on a regular basis, and all accounting paperwork including daily revenue reports, timesheets, invoices and statements are delivered to the Alaska Collection accounting in a timely manner· Assists with ensuring all buildings are properly and safely maintained in accordance with the Company’s quality standards· Reviews, recommends and implements appropriate changes based on guest comments, complaints and concerns to ensure that guest expectations are met· Reviews daily occupancy level to ensure that guest rooms are cleaned and available by required check-in· Serves as primary backup to the General Manager for all aspects of the Windsong Lodge· Communicates all guest feedback received via NPS and online platforms to the appropriate departments and assists with an improvement action plan for any negative guest feedback· Builds and executes Rooms preseason opening and postseason closing plans with efficiency and anticipation· Ensure that all driving records and documentation for all staff driving company’s vehicles are up to date and code.· Performs other duties as are appropriate and as assigned· Thorough Knowledge of front office management, housekeeping management, and F&B· Thorough knowledge of maintenance, sanitation and safety standards for Room and restaurant operations· Thorough knowledge of delivering high-quality guest experience by maintaining standards for staff, room quality· Working knowledge of the same for the hotel and restaurant industry· Knowledge of maintenance, sanitation and safety standards and requirements in the hotel and food and beverage industry· Knowledge of human resources standards and practices in the hospitality industry· Knowledge of marketing practices, management procedures, financial analysis and the Alaska Collection planning techniques· Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with an emphasis on the presentation of material in a meaningful manner to the ultimate decision makers· Must have superior organizational and follow-up skills and be detail oriented· Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment; ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload· Proficiency in the use of computers, food and beverage software, databases and spreadsheet programs. Strong Microsoft Office suite skills· Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated company employees and outside business associates· Ability to design, communicate and effectively evaluate policies and procedures related to excellent customer service principles and practices; ability to train and mentor staff on delivery of the same· Ability to organize, plan, motivate and direct others in a team environment in the achievement of the Alaska Collection’s goals and objectives· Knowledge of the tourism business in Alaska, including state government, industry organizations, and large private industry influences· High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information· Excellent leadership, management and supervisory skillsPhysical Abilities:· Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays· Sitting and/or standing and working on a computer for long periods required· Ability to work and travel in all weather conditions· Ability to maintain balance and maneuver in crowded space on a regular basis· Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basisMinimum Qualifications:· 5 years’ previous hotel front operations and/or Food & Beverage management, catering management/sales or any combination of management, education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities· Thorough working knowledge of modern front operations management, restaurant and lounge management methods and techniques· Demonstrated success in producing profit and guest satisfaction in the Food & Beverage service and/or hospitality industry· Experience in purchasing, corporate administration, Human Resources or accounting desirable· Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport· Must be able to legally enter Canada· Must possess or be able to obtain a current Alaska Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAPs) certification· Must possess current First Aid and CPR certification· Must possess current State of Alaska Food Workers Card· Familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets and Personal Protective EquipmentWe're more than a hospitality and attractions company.
