Senior Lean Manager
Mortenson is currently seeking a
Senior Lean Manager
to partner with group leadership in planning and executing lean strategies, support project teams with 5S, flow construction, and kaizen-based continuous improvement, and capture quantitative improvements for future project pursuits and business strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create strong partnerships with leaders and the workforce at multiple job sites to establish trust and gain buy‑in for lean approaches
Promote continuous improvement principles and support leaders in improvement events and follow‑ups
Advocate for Flow Construction (Takt Planning & Takt Control), supporting teams in developing flow schedules and ensuring execution per the established Production System.
Develop and implement standards for identifying and responding to abnormal conditions
Measure and ensure visibility of baseline performance and improvements across projects
Champion 5S practices and ensure consistency in policies, plans, and jobsite standards
Encourage ongoing brainstorming and implementation of improvements by crews
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or related degree
OR
Equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience
Minimum eight years' construction or manufacturing experience
Minimum six years' experience applying continuous improvement in manufacturing or construction
Current driver’s license
Expert understanding of continuous improvement principles and their application
Excellent reliability and follow‑through on commitments
Excellent trainer and facilitator
Strong ability to coach and mentor lean professionals
Ability to influence through relationship building
Proactive self‑starter with a growth mindset
Strong sense of curiosity and optimism
Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Active listening and effective communication skills, open to diverse input and feedback

Ability to travel up to 75%

The base pay range for this role is $113,500 - $170,300.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
