Job Summary The Electronics Quality Lead is responsible for supervising the daily quality control activities within the production environment and ensuring that electronic components and products meet the required quality standards. The role involves leading a team of quality inspectors, implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections and tests, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to address any quality-related issues. The Electronics Quality Lead ensures that processes comply with industry standards and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control Supervision:

Lead the quality team in performing inspections, testing, and audits on electronic products and components to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Monitor quality processes throughout production, ensuring consistency and compliance with established procedures.

Assign tasks and manage workflow for the quality inspection team, ensuring timely completion of inspections and reports.

Inspection and Testing:

Conduct and oversee incoming, in-process, and final product inspections, ensuring products meet specifications before delivery to customers.

Ensure testing procedures are followed according to the defined standards, such as electrical, environmental, and functional tests.

Validate and document testing results, identifying and addressing non-conforming products and materials.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify potential quality issues and implement solutions.

Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to product quality improvement discussions.

Assist in resolving issues related to defective parts, components, or processes, working to find the root cause and establish corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement:

Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality and production efficiency.

Identify areas for improvement in the production process and recommend solutions to reduce defects, improve product reliability, and enhance overall quality.

Lead or participate in quality improvement projects, such as lean manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives.

Documentation and Reporting:

Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of inspection results, quality issues, and non-conformances.

Generate quality reports, metrics, and performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, scrap rates, and yield rates.

Maintain up-to-date records of all quality-related processes, inspections, and corrective actions.

Training and Development:

Provide training and guidance to quality inspectors and operators to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.

Conduct periodic reviews of the quality team's performance and provide coaching and feedback to improve their skills and effectiveness.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, such as ISO 9001, IPC, or other applicable certifications and regulatory guidelines.

Stay informed of changes in quality standards and regulatory requirements, and ensure the team adheres to updated practices.

Qualifications

Education:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Quality Management, or a related field preferred.

Certifications such as IPC, Six Sigma, or other quality-related credentials are advantageous.

Experience:

3 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in an electronics manufacturing environment. Experience in a supervisory or lead role is preferred.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of quality control processes and standards in electronics manufacturing (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001).

Proficient in quality inspection tools, techniques, and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, RCA).

Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate a team.

Familiarity with testing and measuring equipment, and related software used for product validation.
