Director of Fundraising Development Status
Full Time, Exempt *This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus contingent on the successful achievement of established KPIs. Position Summary
Northlake Behavioral Health System is seeking a visionary Director of Fundraising Development to lead all fundraising and development initiatives. This executive role is responsible for securing resources that expand programs, enhance patient care, maintain and improve facilities, and support the organization’s long-term growth. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Development will design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies—including major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation support, campaigns, and signature events—while cultivating and stewarding individuals, institutional partners, board members, and community stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as the public-facing ambassador for the organization, lead a high-performing development team, and make a meaningful impact on Northlake’s mission and programs. What You’ll Do
Build and manage a portfolio of major gift donors and qualified prospects.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at all levels, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Lead strategic initiatives for major gifts, planned giving, endowment growth, campaigns, and signature events.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with board members, volunteers, and community stakeholders to advance philanthropy.
Oversee donor communications, fundraising events, and community engagement initiatives to strengthen visibility and relationships.
Manage donor data, financial tracking, and reporting to inform strategy and ensure accountability.
Lead, mentor, and collaborate with the development team and other hospital staff to achieve fundraising goals.
Ensure compliance with fundraising laws, regulations, and HIPAA, maintaining donor confidentiality and ethical fundraising practices.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Non-profit Management, Fundraising, or related field; Master’s degree or CFRE strongly preferred.
7+ years of progressive fundraising or development experience, including senior leadership experience in healthcare or complex non-profit organizations.
Proven success securing major gifts, cultivating individuals, and managing corporate, foundation, and institutional relationships.
Strategic thinker with experience designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising programs, including major gifts, planned giving, and endowment growth.
Strong interpersonal, networking, and public speaking skills, with the ability to inspire and engage donors, staff, and community partners.
Experience managing budgets, analyzing data, and using donor CRM systems to inform strategy.
Knowledge of fundraising laws, donor privacy requirements, and HIPAA compliance; commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and travel locally or regionally as needed.
