Responsibilities

Manage all inquiries and referrals in a timely and professional manner.

Coordinate admissions with nursing, social services, and business office to ensure a smooth and compliant intake process.

Build and maintain positive relationships with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, and community partners.

Ensure all admissions paperwork meets federal, state, and facility requirements.

Stay informed about Oregon Long‑term care regulations and payer requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, managed care) and reimbursement.

Compile and distribute admission papers, ensuring accuracy and entry into system.

Maintain relationships with legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, assisted living and senior housing facilities, appropriate special interest groups, churches and other community contacts.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing coding.

Strategic planning and decision‑making ability.

Process improvement mindset.

Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow administrative team members with a diverse range of expertise.

Understanding of the basics of patient care.

Mission‑driven and service mindset.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent and 2/3 years’ experience in health care or long‑term care admissions.

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or similar field preferred.

Experience in SNF/rehab admissions or health care business development with strong knowledge of payers (Medicare, managed care, Medicaid).

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 20 pounds at a time.

Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms frequently.

Required to stand, walk, talk, sit, and hear; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulder height, reach below the waist, or lift as needed throughout the work day.

Proper lifting techniques are required.
