Position Summary: The Resident Experience Director isresponsible for general oversight of all aspects of the Activities Department, ensuringthe standards are met and implemented daily.The Resident Experience Director is responsible for creating an active andsocial environment through the promotion of meaningful activities that are based onresidents’ interests and needs. Responsibilitieswill include managing budgets, scheduling, promoting, training, and conductingsuccessful programming and outings for the Assisted Living/Independent Livingdepartment and must be completed in accordance with current standards andguidelines set forth by Sinceri SL.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a related field suchas healthcare, social work, or gerontology is preferred.

2 years experience working in a social orrecreational program in a healthcare setting.

Previous supervisory and/or management experiencepreferred.

Must be knowledgeable in evaluating residents' needsand able to adjust programming as needed.

Ability to establish effective relationships withresidents, family members, and staff.

Strong documentation skills and basic computerskills.

Able to respond to resident, family, or teamconcerns in a respectful, patient, and professional manner elevating concernsto the Administrator as needed.

Strong organizational skills and ability tore-prioritize daily tasks, to accommodate fluctuating needs of the residents and the Community.

Ability to represent the Community in a positiveand professional manner.

Experience in training and staff development andability to motivate others.

Current and valid state driver’s license and acceptable drivingrecord/MVR.

Must be able to pass a criminal backgroundclearance.

Essential Functions: Management

Creates and displays amonthly Calendar of Events based on resident interest and meeting the currentstandards and guidelines set by Sinceri SL.

Provide an activities program seven days a weekthat is built around resident life profiles and demonstrates an active, social,and creative environment.

Provide and conducts aplan of programs appropriate to the needs of the residents that includes,but is not limited to: Physical activities, creative expressions, cognitivestimulation, lifelong learning, group social programs, indoor and outdooractivities, well-planned outings, spiritual programs, opportunities forresident involvement in planning and implementation of the activitiesprogram, parallel programming, outreach opportunities to give back.

Establishes and manages asuccessful Ambassador program encouraging residents to participate inleading programs of interest, the orientation of new residents, community toursfor potential residents, etc.

Collaborates with HSD tocreate and maintain a successful “Better Health for a Better Self” programto meet the health and wellness needs of the residents.

Successfully utilizes Sagelyfor the creation of a monthly calendar and monthly newsletter. Ensures allresident life story profiles are uploaded and updated in a timely mannerand reviews resident participation to help encourage participation or toreconstruct the calendar to meet the current needs of residents.

Provides direct supervision for Community Programmingstaff, including hiring, evaluation, and discipline.

Serves as a member of the Community management team andassists the Administrator with other management duties as needed. Attends daily Stand-Up meetings and providesfeedback on programming, changes in condition, event planning, residentorientation, support group, etc.

Operates department within established budgetaryguidelines. Ensures vendor/entertainer checks are requested in a timelymanner and any necessary documentation (W9, Certificate of Insurance,etc.) is collected and on file.

Assists with marketing responsibilities andnetworks with referral sources within the senior housing communities andsenior centers at the direction of the Administrator.

Facilitates monthly resident council encouragingresident and department head participation to manage concerns and commentsof community.

Assists with training all staff members onrelated topics and assists in maintaining staff training records asrequested.

Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers whenappropriate. Ensure all necessary applications, background checks,schedules, etc. are completed and kept on file.

Foster family and community support of theprogram (e. g., through newsletters, networking, and programs that bring family members or members of the community into the community.

Resident Care

Provides new employeeorientation on programming and aging sensitivity.

Assists with the developmentof the training calendar.

Acts as a role model to Community staff forcommunication and behavior management strategies, and in engagingresidents in meaningful programs.

Participates in resident and family care conferencesas requested.

Ensuresthat changes in resident condition are observed and reported appropriatelyto the licensed nurse.

Participatesin a new resident family interview for resident history.

Coordinateswith HSD to ensure residents’ interests and routines are included in the Planof Care.

Coordinateswith outside groups and organizations to arrange programs forresidents.

In conjunction with the Assistant, maintains acurrent social history and profile for each resident.

Assists in maintaining an adequate inventory ofsupplies and equipment and follows appropriate Community protocol forpurchasing items/products.

Supports the team in ensuring that all residentcare is provided in a safe and effective manner, while consistentlymaintaining resident dignity, choice, and respect.

Maintains knowledge of current OSHA and stateregulations, and routinely monitors Community compliance with the regulations related to resident care.
