Booz Allen is looking for a Sof tware Engineer who is driven by purpose and ready to build sof tware that directly supports mission‑critical operations across the space domain. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and enhance the sof tware developed for ground systems and the real‑time capab ilities that space missions rely on.
You’ll take ownership of complex engineering challenges — from modernizing legacy components to architecting new mission‑ focus ed capab ilities that improve performance, resilience, and operational speed. The Opportunity You Have:
7+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing sof tware programming applications
5+ years of experience in sof tware development with programming languages, such as Java, Python, Rus t, or GO
3+ years of experience with Linux‑based systems, containers, and orchestration tools, such as Docker or Kubernetes
Experience tran sit ioning legacy applications to a modernized microservice‑based architecture
Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications
Experience working within a Cloud Service Provider ( CSP ), such as AWS, Azure, or Google
Experience using back‑end and front‑end languages to develop complete solutions
Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross‑functional team
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in Sof tware Engineering, or 15+ years of experience in Sof tware Engineering in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have
Experience in an Agile environment
Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well an contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
