The Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our growing team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring a smooth and compliant employee experience across the organization, with responsibilities spanning leave and performance management, workplace accommodations, contractor lifecycle oversight, and policy maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of employment law, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to navigate sensitive issues with discretion. This is a dynamic position requiring a broad range of HR, operational, and problem-solving skills, and offers the opportunity to support a fast-paced, scaling environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies and coordination with Payroll
- Support managers to document and manage performance issues
- Oversee contractor lifecycle, including performance management, extensions, and conversions to full-time roles
- Coordinate temp-to-hire processes and support hiring managers with smooth transitions
- Maintain and update the employee handbook to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide support for immigration processes, including documentation and coordination with external partners
- Administer offboarding processes, including systems access, and compliance requirements
Who You Are and What You Bring
- 3-5+ years progressive experience in an HR or People function, preferably in a generalist role
- Strong knowledge of leave management, accommodations, and employment law compliance (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Experience with California and San Francisco specific employment regulations
- Some familiarity with immigration processes and employment-based visas is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly across teams and levels
- Proven success working in dynamic, fast-paced environments - startup or scaling company experience preferred

The posted range represents the expected base salary range for this position and does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, benefits, and perks. Ultimately, the final pay decision will consider factors such as your experience, job level, location, and other relevant job-related criteria. The base salary range for this position is: $90,000-95,000/year.

Information Security Roles and Responsibilities
All staff at Arine are expected to be part of its Information Security Management Program and undergo periodic training on Information Security Awareness and HIPAA guidelines. Each user is responsible to maintain a secure working environment and follow all policies and procedures. Upon hire, each person is assigned and must complete trainings before access is granted for their specific role within Arine.
