About Skild AI
At Skild AI, we’re building the world’s first general-purpose robotic intelligence—systems that can robustly adapt to unseen environments without failure. We believe large-scale, data-driven machine learning is the key to unlocking widespread real-world robotics deployment.
Our team spans from early-career engineers to industry veterans. While experience matters, we prioritize demonstrated ability, curiosity, and execution. We’re looking for engineers who are excited to tackle unsolved problems and build systems that operate at real-world scale.
The Role We’re seeking a
Senior Automation & Controls Engineer
to design and deploy advanced robotic automation systems. You will work closely with robotics and machine learning engineers to bring the Skild Brain into live production environments. You’ll also help build automated systems for testing, validation, and scaling our growing robot fleet.
This role sits at the intersection of AI, robotics, and industrial automation, with direct impact on real-world deployments across multiple industries.
What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and maintain automation systems powered by Skild AI models
Develop PLC- and vision-based solutions to support large-scale robotic deployment and validation
Build automated testing infrastructure to improve data quality and model performance
Collaborate with robotics and machine learning teams to integrate Skild’s robotic stack into production environments
Support real-world deployments, system tuning, and ongoing operational improvements
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of industry experience in automation, controls, or robotics engineering
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, or equivalent hands‑on experience
Strong hands‑on expertise with
PLCs, vision systems, sensors, actuators, and full system integration
Experience building, launching, and sustaining
production-grade automation or robotic systems
Knowledge of
industrial automation standards and plant communication protocols
Strong system-level understanding of robotics software stacks and module interfaces
Why Skild AI
Work on
general‑purpose robotic intelligence
at real‑world scale
Deploy AI-powered automation into live production environments
Collaborate with top robotics and machine learning engineers
Operate in a fast-moving, execution-focused engineering culture
Play a key role in scaling intelligent robotic systems globally
