20172463**Location:** Lavergne, TN**Reports To:** National Operations Director, Retail/Specialty Pharmacy Services**Position Summary:**The Director of MMS Solutions Specialty Pharmacy is responsible for leading all aspects of specialty pharmacy operations with a focus on complex, high-cost medications and patient populations requiring specialized care, particularly in nephrology. This role encompasses strategic planning, business development, regulatory and accreditation compliance (URAC/ACHC), financial performance, and team leadership. The Director ensures optimal patient access, adherence, and clinical outcomes by managing payer relationships, leveraging data analytics, and fostering collaboration with healthcare providers and manufacturers.**Responsibilities:*** *Strategic Leadership*: Develop and execute strategic plans for MMS specialty pharmacy services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and growth initiatives.* *Operational Oversight*: Direct daily operations, including dispensing, inventory management, technology systems, and logistics for complex therapies, with an emphasis on nephrology care.* *Financial Management*: Manage departmental budgets, monitor drug utilization, negotiate payer contracts, and implement cost-containment strategies to optimize financial performance.* *Regulatory & Quality Compliance*: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards (URAC, ACHC), and internal quality assurance programs.* *Stakeholder Collaboration*: Serve as a key liaison with providers, payers, manufacturers, and internal teams to resolve issues, coordinate care, and strengthen relationships with pharmaceutical distribution.* *Team Leadership*: Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise pharmacists, technicians, call center staff, and support personnel, fostering a culture of patient-centered care and operational excellence.* *Data & Analytics*: Oversee reporting and analytics to monitor key performance indicators, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.**Qualifications:*** Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required; clinical expertise or experience in nephrology preferred.* Active pharmacist license in Tennessee and eligibility to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge across multiple states where the pharmacy operates.* Extensive experience in specialty pharmacy operations, management, and healthcare administration.* Strong leadership capabilities, financial acumen, regulatory knowledge, project management proficiency, and exceptional communication skills.* Required to be on site in Lavergne; may travel to conferences or meetings**What is expected of you and others at this level:*** Provides leadership to managers and experienced professional staff; may also manage front line supervisors* Manages an organizational budget* Develops and implements policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals* Assists in the development of functional strategy* Decisions have an extended impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers* Interacts with internal and/or external leaders, including senior management* Persuades others into agreement in sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationships**Anticipated salary range:**$132,700- $224,730**Bonus eligible:** Yes**Benefits:** Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.* Medical, dental and vision coverage* Paid time off plan* Health savings account (HSA)* 401k savings plan* Access to wages before pay day with myFlexPay* Flexible spending accounts (FSAs)* Short- and long-term disability coverage* Work-Life resources* Paid parental leave* Healthy lifestyle programsThe salary range listed is an estimate.
