Eaton’s Global Controllership team is seeking a Leader for our newly created Revenue Recognition Center of Excellence (COE) team. This position will be based at our corporate office in Beachwood, OH or Moon Township, PA. Candidates must be based within 50 miles of these locations as relocation assistance is not available. Minimal travel is expected (~10%).

Annual salary range:

$141,000 - $207,000

per year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salary information shown is a general guideline only and is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do In this newly created position, as Revenue Recognition COE Leader you will establish and oversee a specialized team responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition under US GAAP (ASC 606) for arrangements across the organization. You will serve as a subject matter expert, driving policy development, contract decision-trees, process standardization, and automation initiatives. The role will partner closely with Sales, Commercial Finance, Legal, IT, and FP&A to ensure accurate, timely revenue recognition and scalable processes.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Interpret and apply ASC 606 and US GAAP guidance to complex revenue arrangements; draft global revenue recognition policies; provide technical accounting documentation.

Operational Excellence: Standardize revenue recognition processes; develop contract decision trees; oversee SOX controls; implement automation tools.

Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, US GAAP, and audit requirements; monitor and operationalize changes in accounting standards.

Business Partnership: Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Legal, and FP&A to review contracts and provide real‑time guidance on contract modifications. Support deal structuring and advise on revenue recognition implications during negotiations, considering cashflow impacts and accretive results to financial metrics.

Close, Controls & Reporting: Oversee global revenue close and reporting; maintain SOX controls; coordinate with auditors; manage key revenue reporting and disclosure requirements.

Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs on revenue recognition policies.

Leadership & Team Building: Build and lead a high‑performing team; champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, from an accredited institution.

Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and corporate roles.

Minimum 5 years of team management experience.

Deep expertise in ASC 606 and complex revenue arrangements.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

CPA certification.

Experience in a Center of Excellence or highly matrixed global organization.

Public Accounting/Big 4 experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience within manufacturing organizations.

Skills

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts in clear, business‑friendly language.

Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and revenue automation tools.

Familiarity with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and process automation (Alteryx, RPA).

Strategic thinking with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
