Integration & Test Engineering Spring 2026 Co‑Op (Dallas, TX)
Founded in 2015, Shield AI is a venture‑backed deep‑tech company that protects service members and civilians with intelligent systems. Its products include the V‑BAT and X‑BAT aircraft, Hivemind Enterprise, and the Hivemind Vision lines.
Our 2026 Co‑Op program offers rising 2026 graduates a paid, full‑time experience over several months of real‑world hardware development and testing. The ideal start date is January 2026; end date flexible between June and August 2026.
What you’ll do
You will be given ownership of a project tailored to your start date, duration, and location. Your work will directly impact our autonomous aircraft development.
You will be partnered with a senior engineer who will mentor and guide your technical input and professional development.
Example projects include:
Design and implement sensor emulators using simulation or hardware instrumentation.
Design, simulate, and integrate aircraft operations into a software application used for training pilots.
Implement a hardware‑in‑the‑loop capability to validate software features end‑to‑end across missions.
Build a continuous‑integration pipeline to deliver repeated test coverage of flight software.
Own a software design from concept, design, iteration, to release and drive bug fixes.
Required Qualifications
Completed at least the second year of a relevant degree (Computer Engineering, CS, or EE).
Strong technical fundamentals and ability to write code and learn new concepts quickly.
Experience as part of an engineering team or club.
Familiarity with standard software tools (e.g., git) and development practices such as code review.
Demonstrated ownership of project outcomes and exceptional results.
Track record of hard work, trustworthiness, high standards, and kindness toward teammates.
Compensation • $35–$50 an hour (Rising Bachelor’s graduate $42/hr; Rising Master’s graduate $48/hr; Rising PhD graduate $50/hr)
Housing stipend available for qualifying candidates.
This role may be eligible for additional benefits such as PTO, 401(k), healthcare, etc. Pay within the stated range, plus benefits and equity for full‑time offers or temporary benefits after 60 days for temporary offers.
