Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing high‑level strategic counsel on healthcare communications.

Lead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies to support pharmaceutical company brand and reputation, while staying aware of industry trends in oncology.

Anticipate client needs, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.

Lead cross‑functional teams, collaborating with creative, media, and digital specialists to deliver integrated campaigns.

Identify opportunities for organic account growth, leading business development efforts as needed.

Participate in new business pitches and proposals, helping to expand the agency’s healthcare portfolio.

Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.

Provide clear guidance and strategic direction to teams, empowering them to deliver high‑quality work.

Champion a collaborative and inclusive team environment, driving excellence across client accounts.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or equivalent work experience.

8+ years of health communications experience (agency or in‑house preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

Proven expertise in strategic communications planning and execution.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.

Experience in pharmaceutical products oncology, or healthcare regulatory environments is highly desirable.

Experience leading multi‑channel communications campaigns across earned, owned, and paid media.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts, projects, and teams effectively.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, integrated agency environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate fluency in leveraging AI tools to enhance communication strategies, optimize content creation, and drive more personalized, data‑informed engagement across channels.

$95,000 - $165,000 annually. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue‑based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees.
