Join the North Orange County Community College District as a Counselor in the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) to support students from diverse backgrounds in planning their academic and career paths. Responsibilities
Apply student development theory to provide comprehensive counseling on degree and vocational education program planning, career decisions, goal clarification, and personal life management. Counsel EOPS students on transfer institution choice, program requirements, and vocational pathways. Engage in curriculum development, committee participation, and statewide EOPS counseling professional development. Provide orientation, onboarding, and co-curricular support for prospective and current EOPS students. Participate in Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) formulation, assessment, and program review development. Maintain current knowledge of instructional methods and emerging technologies relevant to assignment duties. Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse student population through effective teaching methodologies and cultural responsiveness. Perform related administrative duties, comply with district, college, and division policies, and meet campus and office hour requirements. Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, education counseling, social work, or related field. OR equivalent education, training, employment, and professional experience determined by district equivalency committee. Two years of occupational experience related to ethnic minorities or language, social, or economic disadvantages. Commitment to diversity with sensitivity to academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds. Compliance with credential verification, transcript submission, and foreign degree evaluation as required. Desirable Qualifications
Minimum of two years full-time EOPS counseling experience or equivalent. Experience working with California community college student support services programs (Financial Aid, EOPS, CARE, Foster Youth, CalWORKs, DSS, System Impacted). Demonstrated competence in counseling services for career, academic, financial, psychological, and social/personal goals. Experience in post-secondary transfer counseling with focus on academic and career exploration. Knowledge of career development assessment tools and electronic student education planning systems. Ability to develop comprehensive student educational program plan (SEPP) in accordance with Title 5, section 56236. Knowledge of curriculum development, SLOs, and program review cycle. Bilingual capability (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese) preferred. Working Conditions
Salary Range: $94,016 – $141,211 Annually (based on experience and qualifications). Hours: Full Time, Tenure Track (may include evenings and Saturdays). Location: Fullerton College, Fullerton, CA. Employment Length: 12 months per year (renewable). Open Date: 12/09/2025 Close Date: 02/05/2026 Apply
