Engineer‑Air Compliance, Sr. (#3653) role at Tallgrass. Base pay range
$140,015.00/yr – $169,716.00/yr Responsibilities
Work with air permitting professionals to support operations and ensure compliance with air requirements. Plan, organize, coordinate, budget and manage timely execution of air permits and related requirements accurately. Complete emission calculations and inventories. Conduct State and Federal regulatory applicability analyses. Frequent interaction with regulatory agencies, consultants and operations personnel. Conduct on‑site verification and maintain knowledge of oil and gas equipment. Establish and maintain effective relationships with engineering, operational and managerial staff. Provide technical support to operations staff to ensure compliance with the Clean Air Act and related air permitting requirements. Foster communication with the workforce to strengthen EHS objectives, policies and procedures. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company EHS policies and applicable regulations. Offer assistance and act as a mentor to the Air Compliance Specialist position when needed. Collaborate with a variety of people with tact and professionalism. Communicate clearly in person and by telephone, using high level of verbal skills and listening carefully. Maintain a reliable and high level of performance. Work non‑traditional hours as needed. Maintain a high regard for personal safety, company assets, employees and the public. Perform other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum eight (8) years of direct air permitting and compliance experience in the oil and gas industry. Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act and state regulations where Tallgrass operates. Experience interacting with federal, state, and local agency officials regarding air permitting authorizations. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook). Certifications & Licenses
Active State‑registered Professional Engineering license. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Physical Demands
Sitting, standing, walking, driving, talking, seeing, hearing, and reaching throughout facility. Lifting up to 25 lb.; occasional lifting of up to 10 lb. at a time. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Working Conditions
Regular time, occasional non‑traditional hours. Clear a drug screen and complete background check before employment. Compensation
