IP Patent Agent/Patent Associate – Los Angeles / Orange County
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, currently has an exciting full‑time employment opportunity for a Patent Agent/Patent Associate in our Intellectual Property Practice Group in our Los Angeles or Orange County office. The LA team has a dynamic and continually growing practice focused on a broad range of intellectual property matters.
Job Requirements
3+ years of focused experience drafting utility and design patent applications in the following areas:
Computer and electronics arts (software, AI/ML/LLMs, telecommunications, integrated circuits, semiconductors, audio processing, batteries and charging systems, power generation, etc.)
Mechanical and electromechanical arts (aerospace, space, consumer products, medical devices, etc.)
Prosecuting patent applications.
Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; lawyers must be admitted to practice in California.
Preferred advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science; degrees in mechanical engineering or related experience also considered.
Excellent academic credentials, ability to work directly with clients, strong writing and analytical skills.
Expected Pay Range $240,000 – $365,000 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. Full‑time employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, health insurance (with optional HSA), disability insurance, dental and vision care, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k), vacation, sick time, employee assistance program, and additional voluntary benefits. Commuter and transit programs may be available in certain markets.
