Geospatial Architecture Specialist
NV5 is seeking a
Geospatial Architecture Specialist
with specific technical skills and expertise to provide support of program platforms, design and code new programs, and undertake IT system modernization through the use of various IT‑based solutions such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, training, and application support.
The role supports the management of natural resources on Indian lands, tribal and climate resilience grants, forest harvesting, wildland fire analysis, oil and gas management, and other economic analyses for the benefit of our collective stakeholders including Tribes.
This work is carried out by providing expert technical support in geospatial data technologies, automation processing tools, IT servers, and enterprise geodatabase design in support of a federal government client at the Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado.

Responsibilities
Translate programs, automation tools, code, and scripts from Python to new support program platforms.
Write programs that translate existing programs and scripts which automate the management, maintenance, and standardization of large datasets (e.g., Public Land Survey, Land Area Representation (LAR), Land Status) into approved data models for internal use and publication‑ready data designs.
Design and code new programs, scripts, and routines to support the automation of operations, improving data management and map production.
Devise and deploy automated tools to map Indian land tract, reservation boundaries, ownership, lease and right‑of‑way data that synchronize with the Trust Asset and Accounting Management System (TAAMS) and align topologically with official BLM PLSS CAD NSDI GCDB GIS data.
Leverage server or client scripting solutions (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or other web technologies) to work efficiently with technical team members.
Comprehend IT server and geodatabase architecture and design principles to develop resource information management and delivery services.
Assist in scripting for special projects within the Division and, when appropriate, outside projects to support critical missions.
Qualifications
Programming & Scripting Languages:
Python
PowerShell

Other web technologies (e.g., HTML/CSS for integration)
Automation & Data Processing Tools:
Tools for translating scripts and automating workflows
Solutions for managing large geospatial datasets (PLSS, LAR, Land Status)
Data Models & GIS Standards:
TAAMS (Trust Asset and Accounting Management System)
BLM PLSS CAD NSDI GCDB GIS Data
Server & Geodatabase Architecture:
Knowledge of IT servers and enterprise geodatabase design principles
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of application development experience
Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field
Pay Range The pay range for this position in Colorado is $120,000–$140,000 per year; base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k), and professional development/advancement opportunities.
