Anesthesiologist Assistant - Multi‑Specialty Anesthesiology Sign‑on Bonus & Loan Repayment Eligible! Join the Cleveland Clinic to apply for the Anesthesiologist Assistant role in our Multi‑Specialty Anesthesiology Division at the Main Campus in Cleveland, Ohio.

As an Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA), you will work alongside a collaborative team of anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and other professionals to deliver exceptional care across a wide range of high‑acuity surgical specialties.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an Anesthesiologist Assistant in a hospital inpatient environment, preferably involving high‑acuity cases, is strongly preferred.

Schedule

Multiple scheduling options available.

Infrequent weekend and holiday obligations.

In‑house call required only 4–5 times per year (3pm‑7am), part of regular weekly hours.

Responsibilities

Obtains a comprehensive patient history and performs relevant elements of a physical exam.

Discusses findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia.

Reviews the patient’s condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to the induction of anesthesia.

Pretests and calibrates anesthesia delivery systems.

Administers blood, blood products and supportive fluids.

Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited by an organization recognized by the board of regents.

Certifications

Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.

Current valid certificate of registration.

Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.

Complexity of Work

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing up to 200 pounds.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours.

Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range Minimum Annual Salary: $143,960.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $259,110.00
