About The Job
QuAILE DS stands for Quality, Artificial InteLligence, and Experience Data Science. We are a team of data scientists who partner with Search Quality, Search AI Features such as AI Overviews (AIO) and AI Mode (AIM), and Search Experience. We are looking for an exceptional, pioneering Data Scientist to drive the next generation of methodologies, insights, and AI-powered innovation across our organization. This role operates horizontally across all product areas, partnering closely with the Director of Data Science, managers, and technical leads to identify emerging AI trends, incubate novel approaches, and build the connective tissue that ties complex data signals together. In this role, you will elevate the entire DS discipline through scalable frameworks, research prototypes, and meta-level insights. You will push the boundaries of methodological excellence, accelerate data science productivity, and help shape long-term strategic themes that inform our highest‑impact decisions. US base salary range: $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Additional compensation details will be discussed during the hiring process.
Minimum qualifications
Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 8 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
Preferred qualifications
12 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 10 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
Experience working on a consumer facing product.
Experience with experimental design, training, and in data analysis, survey design, statistical modeling.
Ability to work and complete projects independently and work with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic fast‑paced environment.
Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, learn new skills, and adapt to changing environments.
Ability to apply quantitative/statistical model to real‑world business problems.
Responsibilities
Pioneer next‑generation data science and AI methodologies—advancing experimentation, evaluation, insights, measurement, and automation.
Identify emerging AI trends and translate them into scalable frameworks, research prototypes, and high‑leverage opportunities for product teams.
Drive cross‑team research by connecting signals, synthesizing patterns, and shaping horizontal insight themes that guide strategic decisions.
Lead high‑impact horizontal workstreams in areas such as GenAI evaluation, frontier measurement, user intelligence, and growth and quality insights.
Build reusable tools, prompts, evaluators, and agentic workflows that improve data science productivity and elevate analytical craft across the organization.
