Chief Administrative Officer – Blessed Sacrament Parish – Washington DC
Blessed Sacrament Parish is hiring a Chief Administrative Officer to support the work of the Pastor and his parish. This is a full‑time role that reports directly to the Pastor.
Detailed Responsibilities
Assist the Pastor as needed in the management of parish programs and evaluate programs with professional staff.
Ensure effective communication of parish activities, events and notices; coordinate a comprehensive, strategic, integrated communications strategy that includes the parish bulletin, announcements at Mass, signs and banners, parish web pages and social media platforms.
Suggest strategies for Pastor and applicable committee usage.
Oversee counting and deposit of all parish funds and manage parish banking.
Represent the parish to vendors and governmental authorities.
Participate in all parish staff meetings and Finance Council meetings as required.
Attend diocesan meetings as necessary, representing the Parish and the Pastor.
Maintain good working relationships and effective communication between the parish and related groups.
Qualifications
Active member of a Roman Catholic faith community.
Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field.
At least five years’ experience in managing subordinates, budgets and/or operations.
Knowledge of budgeting processes, financial controls, contracting and human resource management.
Familiarity with the Catholic Church as an organization.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff, clergy and parish volunteers.
Adept at computer use: Microsoft and Google office applications, email and video conferencing applications; knowledge of cloud‑based data and document storage and protection.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Regular office hours; work outside of regular office hours by exception.
