A growing construction firm in the MetroWest region is seeking a Purchasing Director to lead the company's procurement strategy. This leader will oversee sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations and procurement operations to support construction projects and organizational goals. This role will report directly to C‑Suite leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute procurement strategy to support project schedules and company objectives Source, evaluate and select suppliers for materials, equipment and subcontracted services Lead contract and pricing negotiations to secure favorable terms Manage vendor relationships and monitor performance, quality and delivery timelines Oversee purchasing budgets and identify cost savings opportunities Partner with project management and operations to forecast needs and plan material delivery Establish and enforce purchasing policies, procedures and best practices Prepare procurement reports and updates for executive leadership Lead and develop members of the purchasing team Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, construction management or related field 10 or more years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in construction Strong track record with sourcing, vendor negotiation and contract management Understanding of construction materials, equipment and supply chain dynamics Leadership experience with the ability to guide and develop a team Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills Familiarity with procurement systems, ERP tools and data analysis Seniority level
