CT Technologist Under the direction of the Department Director/Manager/CT Lead, the Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for producing quality diagnostic images of human anatomy and vascular structures following prescribed protocols. Performs examinations in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner to promote the services offered at the facility. Complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff and self, as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines. Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. REASONING ABILITY: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables; interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Demonstrate knowledge and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR)) and Title 22 standards and guidelines. Demonstrate compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrate strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate ability to relate to clinical personnel, medical staff, and the public. Demonstrate ability to perform CT exams independently and follow physician orders. Demonstrate ability to access patency of IV sites before injections and to look up lab values and pull related exams for radiologist viewing. Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent required. Diploma from a certified school of radiologic technology. Minimum one-year experience as a registered Computed Tomography Technologist required; acute care experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association required. Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(CT) license required.
