Physician Extenders NP/PA (Family Medicine)
to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our U.S. military and their families at
Evans Army Community Hospital
located at
Fort Carson, CO .
Employment Status: Full‑time
Compensation: Hourly, paid bi‑weekly
Schedule: Mon‑Fri, 07:30–16:30 (subject to change; may include nights, weekends, or home call). Contract employees shall work no more than 40 hours per week without prior authorization.

Minimum Qualifications
Degree: Master’s degree in nursing.
Education: Graduate of a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
Certification: Nurse Practitioner certification by ANCC, AANP, or a recognized specialty body.
Experience: Meeting clinical competency requirements as specified in Service‑specific credentialing instructions.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license.
Core Duties
Provide full range of outcome‑based nurse practitioner services: supervise and provide general screening and medical care for routine, acute, and chronic conditions; administer immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients.
Technically direct and teach staff, provide evidence‑based educational lectures, and participate in in‑service training.
Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols and guidelines.
Promote preventive care and health maintenance via annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self‑care education.
Communicate and collaborate with diverse team members to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions and to educate patients/families.
Recognize isolation conditions and ensure universal precautions are used.
Attend staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, and quality improvement/safety.
