Description The Director of Nursing is accountable for the development and maintenance of nursing service objectives and standards of nursing practice. They have administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for functions, activities, and training of nursing staff. They are responsible for planning, development, and implementation of care delivery systems, orienting, instructing, and supervising personnel, coordinating nursing services with other departments, maintaining supplies and equipment, and ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local standards and regulations to assure quality outcomes of care.
Qualifications
Must be a Registered Nurse, currently licensed by the State of Minnesota, with training in rehabilitation nursing, gerontology, nursing service administration, management, supervision and psychiatric or geriatric nursing before or within the first twelve (12) months after appointment as Director of Nursing Services.
Must have successfully completed or be seeking certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and emergency care for the health care provider.
Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing when directing the care of residents.
