Front Desk and Patient Financial Physician Practice Primary Care
Banner Health – Pantano Clinic, Tucson, Arizona.
Hours: 8:30 am‑5:30 pm, Monday through Friday (40‑hour work week).
Location: 7901 E 22nd Street, Primary Care Clinic – Internal Medicine & Geriatrics.
Core Functions
Perform registration and check‑in, data entry, provide intake forms, obtain signatures, generate population health summary.
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, pre‑certification, referrals, authorizations.
Calculate and collect patient liability according to insurance verification and benefits; explain financial policies and payment options.
Enter payments and charges, perform daily reconciliation, balance cash drawer, prepare daily bank deposit.
Schedule office visits and procedures, maximize reimbursement, confirm appointments, ensure patient preparedness.
Communicate proactively with patients via phone, email, in‑person; coordinate with internal and external customers.
Assist with patient record requests per policies, state, and federal laws.
Provide patient services to assist flow: escorting, vitals, history, treatment assistance, mail/fax distribution, supply ordering.
Work independently under supervision; manage high volume, multitask, retain payor information.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Knowledge of patient financial services, collection processes; at least one year of experience.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Proficient with office software: word processing, spreadsheets, databases.
For behavioral health roles: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Banner Health systems and processes.
Prior cash collections experience.
