THE ROLE The General Manager is responsible for effectively and profitably managing and directing all day‑to‑day aspects of venue operations, including concessions, retail, catering, and premium services. The GM serves as the primary strategic business leader with responsibility for all aspects of hospitality, guest experience, event innovation, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation. The GM ensures implementation of Legends hospitality standards, exceeds guest expectations, and drives profitability. Holds the property leadership team accountable for strategy execution and guides professional development.
Essential Responsibilities
Uphold Legends’ standards for quality and performance across all food and beverage operations.
Continuously innovate the guest experience—balancing creativity with practical implementation.
Manage the operational budget, monthly P&L statements, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and business partners.
Conduct weekly F&B update meetings as needed.
Handle all client communications regarding food and beverage services requested by Pechanga Arena.
Lead a cohesive management team, developing talent, promoting internally, coaching, and managing performance.
Develop annual operational budgets ensuring fiscal soundness—labor projections, product levels, and pricing.
Hold department managers accountable for timekeeping and scheduling all Legends hourly staff.
Accurately report monthly inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for all departments.
Prepare, verify, and submit financial reports and monthly projections as required.
Work closely with sub‑contractors and non‑profit organizations to meet contractual standards.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Legends regulations regarding alcohol, food service, OSHA, payroll, employment, and EEO guidelines.
Collaborate with vendors and distributors for procurement of products and equipment.
Manage repair and renewal of all operational assets such as uniforms, foodservice equipment, and POS equipment.
Participate in event production meetings and disseminate imperative information to the management team.
Establish and maintain proper safety and sanitation procedures and foster relationships with local health officials and alcohol control authorities.
Ensure all food service equipment remains in proper operating condition.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Execute all contract terms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ management experience in the contract foodservice industry, preferably at a sports and entertainment venue.
Experience in high‑volume foodservice operations, preferably concessions or premium services at a sports/entertainment venue, with oversight of alcohol sales.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi‑task and prioritize in deadline‑oriented environments.
Previous P&L accountability and/or contract‑managed service experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and POS systems required.
Strong commitment to high‑level customer and client service with demonstrated initiative and leadership skills.
Flexibility to work non‑traditional schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Highly organized, self‑motivated, independent worker.
Strong leadership skills with excellent oral and written communication.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Supervisory Responsibilities Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Compensation Competitive salary range of $110,000 – $125,000 plus bonus, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401(k) plan.
