Job Function Data Analytics & Computational Sciences – Data Science – Scientific/Technology

Job Description The Population Analytics and Insights team, part of Data Science and Digital Health at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, is recruiting a Senior Scientist to work on drug target identification/evaluation in the Neuroscience therapeutic area. The role focuses on analyzing large‑scale genomics data to strengthen research capacity in disentangling the molecular drivers of neuropsychiatric conditions, pushing the boundaries of data‑driven drug discovery using cutting‑edge computational and algorithmic tools. The position is located in Spring House, PA, USA and is not available for remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Identify genetically‑driven therapeutic targets leveraging biobank‑scale data such as genetics, proteomics and other omics modalities.

Perform precision stratification of patients and characterize genomic manifestations of disease subtypes using large‑scale biological data and computational methods.

Assess on‑target toxicity/liability of neuroscience‑related target genes using omics data and network‑based models.

Design and implement computational pipelines, analyze results, and communicate findings through internal presentations, conferences, and scientific publications.

Collaborate closely with teams in Disease Genetics, Computational Genomics, AI and Machine Learning, and the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area.

Conceive, develop, and implement analytical solutions to high‑priority scientific projects.

Engage with scientists across J&J to foster collaborations and build a scientific network.

Publish findings in top‑tier journals and conferences.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in a quantitative field – Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Statistical Genetics, Computer Science, or related fields.

2‑3 years of postgraduate scientific experience.

A strong publication record in relevant areas is required.

Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, bash, SQL.

Experience with multi‑omics data integration, especially network analysis.

Knowledge of psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder is a plus.

Experience with bulk/single‑cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, and proteomics is preferred.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to effectively communicate technical findings to stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Base Salary Range $109,000 - $174,800

Benefits Employees are eligible to participate in company‑sponsored health, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
