What You Will Do

Collaborate on cross-disciplined integrated product teams using agile software development techniques.

Own the full lifecycle of product development: architecture, design, integration, test, and field support.

Learn and apply the highest software engineering process maturity level recognized by the Software Engineering Institute.

Qualifications You Must Have

Experience in software engineering across all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Proficiency with C++ or Java software development.

Strong communication in a collaborative team environment interfacing with engineering disciplines, program, and external stakeholders.

Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded programming, processor/board architecture and design.

Working knowledge of Linux, VxWorks or other real‑time operating systems.

Typical degree in STEM and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree and minimum 3 years of experience.

Active transferable Secret clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications We Prefer

Model‑driven development experience.

Software integration on custom hardware.

Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts (Use Cases, SysML diagrams).

Agile lifecycle experience – Scrum, Continuous Integration, Test‑Driven Development.

DevOps, Jenkins, and automated testing experience.

Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Object‑Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D) experience.

Microservice architectures and containerized applications experience.

Salary range: $82,000 – $164,000 USD. The range provided is a good‑faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, and associated responsibilities, as well as candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
