Health & Safety Coordinator – San Francisco, CA – Contract (6‑Month)
Our client, a
leading beauty retail company , is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented
Health & Safety Coordinator
to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive workplace safety programs. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a safe, efficient, and compliant retail and office environment.
The role is onsite, 6‑month contract based in San Francisco, CA. Pay will be $27.18 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs in alignment with OSHA regulations and industry best practices
Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, particularly within retail and office settings
Investigate workplace incidents and support the development and tracking of corrective action plans
Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, reports, and documentation
Deliver safety training and educational programs for employees, contractors, and visitors
Establish and maintain clear health and safety communication channels and reporting systems
Promote a culture of continuous improvement in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), empowering employees to identify hazards and suggest improvements
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee health and safety, preferably within retail environments
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Reliable, professional, and patient, with a strong attention to detail
