Responsibilities

Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various corporate tax compliance and consulting services to industry‑specific clients.

Lead client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters with clients ranging from middle‑market to multinational.

Consult on technical matters and special projects in areas such as corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.

Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to clients.

Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated state and local, high‑net‑worth, international, research and development, and credit‑incentive matters.

Manage client engagement staffing, billings, collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.

Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue.

Invest in professional development individually and through participation in firm‑wide learning and development programs.

Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.

What You Will Do

Serve as a valued tax business advisor, leading client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters with a range of clients.

Consult on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow‑through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.

Research tax matters, respond to tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations for client consideration.

Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state and local, high‑net‑worth, international, R&D, and credit‑incentive matters.

Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure profitability targets are met.

Network and build strong internal and external relationships to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.

Participate in firm‑wide learning and development programs.

Support associate growth through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

Engage in social activities and team outings that encourage work‑life balance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree in business; master’s or advanced degree desirable.

CPA or JD required.

Eight (8)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.

Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.

Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.

Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

Demonstrated ethical knowledge and commitment, sense of urgency, and a focus on quality and timely project completion.

Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.

Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.

Compensation range: $191,260 to $362,600. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
