Management Consultant, Project Manager – Chicago
Our consultancy is looking for highly motivated and talented Project Managers. We seek peak performers who have a passion for business, enjoy solving problems, and have a work ethic that doesn’t rest until the job is done.
Ideal candidates: 10+ years of project management experience; familiarity with Power BI; strong communications background; skilled in business process improvement, strategic planning, IT business strategy and data analysis; Digital Customer Experience (DCX) background. Must facilitate meetings, deliver system functionality, present, and provide production support. Strong interpersonal skills, relationship building, superior oral/written communication, client service focus, improvement identification, stamina in a fast-paced environment. Must be available to work in downtown Chicago office 4-5 days per week.
Primary Responsibilities
Make recommendations to improve project management practices, implement process improvements, and train project managers on best practices.
Provide strategic planning, process development, analysis and interpretation to complex business problems.
Define project scope, goals and deliverables supporting the Project Sponsor’s business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders; identify and mitigate issues and risks.
Work with sponsors, business analysts, stakeholders, and customers to define scope and determine staffing; monitor and communicate project status.
Promote teamwork and a collaborative environment; communicate expectations clearly to team and stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with customers to provide status and secure feedback; manage expectations, ensuring accurate reports and appropriate prioritization.
Take on complex large projects, independently managing scope, dependencies, risks, and impact.
Oversee, develop and maintain automated project plans using project management tools; stay aware of trends and improvements.
Develop objective measures; provide constructive input to performance metrics; develop standards and procedures; train other project managers.
Follow company rules and procedures, foster a positive employee relations climate; assist in recruitment and assimilation of new members.
Required Skills
Advanced knowledge in Project Management/Leadership.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science or comparable.
Strategy implementation experience.
Experience designing and establishing a new program office.
Digital customer experience (DCX) background.
Familiarity with Power BI.
Strong communications background.
Flexibility and ability to act quickly as priorities change.
Change management experience.
Skills in business process improvement, strategic planning, IT, business strategy, data analysis.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Project Management Certificate – PMP, PRINCE2, or similar preferred.
Agile Certification – CSM, ACP, or similar preferred.
Minimum 10 years managing programs or projects.
