Description/Notes The Chief Financial Officer provides leadership in implementing and overseeing strategic planning processes to ensure a continual focus on supporting the superintendent and board of trustees’ goals and objectives for the district. Builds and strengthens district departments through collaborative leadership and shared decision-making. Provides leadership as a part of the Superintendent’s team to help define and commit to a common vision, to a culture of respect and openness, and to methods for decision-making to ensure every child gets the best possible education. Essential leadership responsibilities include: (1) fiscal responsibilities such as assisting in setting spending priorities, distributing funds, and forecasting projected revenues; (2) regulatory responsibilities, such as ensuring compliance to accounting and auditing systems; (3) operational responsibilities, such as efficient and cost-effective facilities and new construction, finance, budgeting, payroll, benefits, and purchasing departments.
Qualifications Education/Certification
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
TASBO Certification preferred
Master’s degree in business administration/Education Administration preferred
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience as CFO or equivalent in a public school district.
