Multi Crossed Trained CT Tech – Diagnostic Radiology Job Summary

The Multi-Modality CT Technologist performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans and other imaging procedures across multiple modalities in radiology to assist in accurate patient diagnosis and treatment. The technologist operates advanced imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, following applicable protocols and regulations, and collaborating with healthcare teams to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

Primary Accountabilities

Maintains a safe environment with the operation of CT and diagnostic imaging equipment for patients/coworkers by adhering to policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Performs a variety of procedures which may include general radiographic, fluoroscopic, emergency room, trauma, operating room, and portable exams.

Screens patients properly for CT and diagnostic imaging exams, documents and communicates pertinent information pre‑ and post‑procedure.

Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with safety protocols.

Produces images consistent with quality standards and evaluates CT scans for technical quality.

Identifies, prepares, and administers medications within scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

Monitors patients during exams, observing for adverse reactions or complications and takes appropriate action.

Maintains flexibility and adapts to workflow changes and patient volume fluctuations.

Communicates effectively with patients, other Health First associates, and the public, using excellent customer‑relation skills.

Follows all federal, state, and regional healthcare regulations and adheres to The Joint Commission (TJC) and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards.

Provides orientation and education for new technologists and assists radiologists in developing new protocols and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Completion of a program accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).

Licensure: General Radiographer licensure in the State of Florida.

Certification: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist – ARRT (R) required; Advanced ARRT (CT) certification within two (2) years of start date.

Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.

Work Experience: None required.

Skills: Ability to report to an applicable Health First facility within thirty (30) minutes when on call; work effectively in stressful environments; respond to life‑threatening situations; time management and critical thinking skills; coordinate scheduling and patient flow.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior CT and diagnostic imaging experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements

Walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching for most of the shift.

Ability to lift or move objects up to 100 pounds.

Movement in tight or confined spaces, reaching overhead, or moving the self to complete tasks.

Ability to lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and equipment up to 90% of the shift.

Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, grease, or water.

Exposure to biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles, following OSHA and CDC guidelines.

Use of manual and motorized equipment for moving materials.

Exposure to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined positions.

Communication with others.

Visual acuity and hand‑eye coordination.

Workspace may vary from open to confined.

Travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; personal vehicle may be required.
