We are seeking a detail-oriented Disaster Recovery Analyst to support the organization’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) program. This role focuses on ensuring that critical systems, applications, and business processes are protected against disruption, and that recovery plans are tested, validated, and continuously improved.
The Disaster Recovery Analyst will work closely with cross‑functional client teams, business units, vendors, and compliance teams to maintain recovery readiness, execute test plans, and support audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DR operations, resiliency planning, and recovery testing, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Document the schedule for fleet testing activities
Identify all internal applications supported by our systems
Maintain the current RTO/RPO for each application until DR is fully integrated in Fusion
Collaborate with cross‑functional business teams to ensure recovery plans align with RTOs and RPOs
Maintain inventory of critical systems, applications, and dependencies
Assist in developing the corporate DR template
Develop, maintain, and update disaster recovery plans, runbooks, and procedures
Work with application teams to develop DR plans within the Fusion Framework
Assist in developing a fleet template in Fusion Framework
Migrate fleet plans to Fusion Framework
Testing & Validation
Ensure application teams complete yearly exercises following the program requirements (y1 – tabletop, y2 – functional test, y3 – full production test)
Administer, plan, coordinate, and execute DR tests and the fleet‑wide program (tabletop exercises, failover tests, simulation drills)
Complete exercises via Fusion Framework vs. JIRA
Document test results, identify gaps, and track remediation through closure
Partner with system/application owners to validate recovery strategies and ensure readiness
Monitoring & Governance
Assist in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 22301, FFIEC, NIST, DORA)
Track and report on DR metrics, testing outcomes, and risk exposure to leadership
Support vendor assessments to ensure third‑party recovery capabilities meet organizational standards
Incident Response Support
Provide support during actual outages or crises, including plan activation and coordination
Work with IT and business stakeholders to ensure timely escalation, communication, and recovery execution
Continuous Improvement
Research industry best practices and emerging technologies for disaster recovery and resilience
Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and documentation
Train end users and stakeholders on DR policies and procedures
Other duties as required to support the Business Resilience program
Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
Understanding of data backup technologies, replication, and failover processes
Familiarity with cloud recovery solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments
Knowledge of infrastructure (servers, storage, networks, virtualization) and application dependencies
Experience with BCDR tools such as Fusion Framework, ServiceNow, Archer, or similar
Proficiency in developing dashboards, metrics, and reports for leadership review
Professional Skills
3–5 years of experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, IT Resiliency, or related field
Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and presentation
Ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical teams
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with a proactive mindset
Additional Skills & Qualifications
This is building a disaster recovery plan for the client’s cloud‑based software products
Experience with technical recovery will be very important
Familiarity with cloud recovery and ability to recognize issues when they arise
Responsibility for testing processes monthly and quarterly to meet regulatory compliance
Integration of plans across multiple areas stored in Fusion
Ability to shape technical teams’ mindset and align them with BCDRP processes
Lead priority setting and execution under BC PM guidance
Development of fleet templates in collaboration with BC PM
Participation in a Fusion class upon onboarding
Experience Level Intermediate Level
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA. This is a fully remote position.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 – $45.00 per hour.
