The General Manager will oversee all aspects of operations at our sheet metal prototype stamping facility. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on management to ensure production efficiency, quality control, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in metal fabrication, stamping processes, and prototype development, along with strong leadership and organizational skills. This position requires a driven, high‑ownership leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is comfortable leading transformation and growth.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Execution

Own full responsibility for plant performance—safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture.

Lead and optimize daily operations across production, scheduling, maintenance, and logistics.

Drive disciplined lean manufacturing, standardized work, and continuous improvement.

Implement scalable processes and systems that support growth into new markets and higher‑mix, lower‑volume prototype work.

Recruit, develop, and mentor a high‑performing team with clear expectations and accountability.

Build a culture of urgency, ownership, and transparency.

Encourage hands‑on leadership while empowering others and fostering cross‑functional collaboration.

Champion safety, training, communication, and workforce development.

Serve as the operational contact for key customers across industries.

Lead quoting, project execution, and coordination to ensure on‑time delivery of high‑quality prototypes.

Maintain proactive customer communication and ensure exceptional service.

Build long‑term relationships through reliability, responsiveness, and technical understanding.

Strategic Growth & Business Transformation

Lead operational transformation to diversify beyond automotive into high‑growth sectors.

Drive ERP enhancements, KPI implementation, and data‑driven decision making.

Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and margin improvement initiatives.

Track, report, and improve KPIs with transparency and ownership.

Optimize labor utilization, material flow, and capital investment effectiveness.

Quality, Compliance & Technical Rigor

Maintain and improve ISO and customer‑specific quality standards.

Oversee quality systems, corrective action processes, and root‑cause problem solving.

Ensure rigorous engineering‑driven approaches to tooling, stamping, and prototype development.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in plant or operations management within metal stamping, fabrication, or prototype environments.

Deep knowledge of stamping presses, tooling, sheet metal processes, and prototype workflows.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change, and implement scalable systems.

Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

Familiarity with ERP systems, CAD/CAM workflows, lean principles, and KPI‑driven management.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
