We’ll Depend On You To

Define and own application migration roadmaps for enterprise portfolios.

Assess existing applications to determine optimal migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, replace).

Architect hybrid and cloud‑native solutions ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Lead, architect, and review technological solutions that meet business requirements and deliver business value through modern software design, development, and delivery.

Drive, support and influence cloud strategies, application architecture and migration roadmaps while ensuring alignment with internal technical teams and business stakeholders.

Lead discovery, assessment, and dependency mapping of application landscapes.

Partner with application owners and development teams to adapt workloads for the cloud.

Work with teams to ensure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD practices for repeatable efficient migrations.

Provide guidance and direction to project teams to ensure security, compliance, and governance requirements are met for migrated applications.

Collaborate with internal resources and third‑party vendors to resolve issues and to understand causes and provide solutions.

Establish monitoring and performance baselines before and after migration.

Work closely with engineering, security, finance (FinOps), and business stakeholders to align migration outcomes with strategic goals.

Mentor cloud engineers and solution architects on best practices for migration and cloud adoption.

Act as a subject matter expert in cloud transformation programs.

Maintain hands‑on technical knowledge of AWS service, cloud design principals and application architectures.

Enterprise Architect for SYF working with teams to develop and maintain the EA strategy, roadmap and standards that align with business goals.

Chair the Architecture Review Board and facilitate cross‑domain architectural reviews ensuring ARB outcomes are transparent, documented and traceable to business and technical strategy.

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualification / Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

10+ years in IT architecture, infrastructure, or application development.

3+ years designing and implementing cloud solutions (AWS).

Proven track record leading enterprise‑scale application migration projects.

Experience with containerization, microservices, and DevOps practices.

Expert in AWS services: EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Terraform.

Proficiency with migration and modernization patterns.

Proven understanding of cloud computing and DevOps fundamentals.

Understanding of networking, security, IAM, and compliance in the cloud.

Experience working collaboratively in cross‑functional teams, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders.

Desired Characteristics

Knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).

Experience in the Financial industry.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.

AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Security, or Database Specialty.

Experience with other CSP providers such as Azure, GCP, and Oracle.

Grade / Level Grade 14 – Salary range: $170,000.00 – $290,000.00 USD per annum (eligible for annual bonus based on individual and company performance). Adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be 18 years or older.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process.

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4‑7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non‑exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
