Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

7 years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure cloud solutions.

Experience with network security, data security and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Experience managing internal or external customer‑facing projects to completion while working with cross‑functional teams.

Preferred qualifications

10 years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure cloud solutions.

Experience in Cloud Security delivered within the context of customer‑facing roles.

Experience in security architecture or security engineering.

Experience implementing FedRAMP, PCI or HIPAA security requirements in a cloud environment.

Experience understanding attacks and mitigation methods in two or more of the following: network protocols and secure network design; web application security; security assessments and penetration testing; authentication and access control; applied cryptography and security protocols; security monitoring and intrusion detection; incident response and forensics; development of security tools, automation or frameworks.

Excellent communication, written, presentation and problem‑solving skills.

About The Job The Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team guides customers through the moments that matter most in their cloud journey to help businesses thrive. As a Security Consultant, you will provide expert technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, ensuring secure foundational implementations, automated provisioning, cloud‑ready architectures, and more.

this role, you will work closely with Product Management and Product Engineering to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features. You will provide thought leadership, operational autonomy and high visibility at the executive level of customer organizations.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $177,000–$263,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Provide domain expertise in cloud security and compliance and be a trusted technical advisor to customers, solving complex challenges.

Work with customers to design and develop cloud security architectures and solutions that exceed requirements, through strategic presentations and direct implementation in Google Cloud.

Create and deliver best‑practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations to stakeholders.

Manage disparate stakeholders within customer environments to deliver consensus and positive outcomes on the Google Cloud platform.

Travel approximately 30% of the time as needed for client engagements.
