Cybersecurity Engineer
Leading the on-site cybersecurity engineering tasks in Wilmington, MA to ensure cybersecurity activities meet customer and program requirements.
Responsibilities
Efficiently work individually on-site in Wilmington and as a part of a larger Textron System cybersecurity team based in other locations.
Contribute to the efforts of the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Support (CSIS) team to support the assessment and authorization of products in accordance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) to achieve an Interim Authorization To Test (IATT) or Authorization To Operate (ATO).
Utilize vulnerability scan, port scan, and compliance checker tools (e.g. ACAS, Nessus, NMAP, SCC), and conduct in-depth analysis of the results against Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirement Guides (SRGs).
Develop remediation and mitigation plans, and create packages for the implementation of those plans.
Install remediations onto target systems.
Coordinate with appropriate program, engineering and external organizations throughout the program and RMF lifecycle.
Support Work Package Management activities to track cost and schedule.
Occasionally travel to other locations in support of cybersecurity activities (less than 10%).
Communicate effectively (verbal and in writing) and have good organizational skills.
Automate remediation updates using scripting languages.
Qualifications
Experience with operating system and networking security configuration and hardening, including automating remediation updates using scripting languages.
Proficient in cybersecurity vulnerability scan, port scan, and compliance checker tools such as ACAS, Nessus, NMAP, SCC.
Experience using Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirement Guides (SRGs).
Strong technical writing skills for developing technical reports.
Knowledge of Department of Defense cybersecurity policies, procedures, and regulations are desired.
Experience leading a cybersecurity program is a plus.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management System is a plus.
Ability to obtain a U.S. government Secret security clearance at a minimum, and a higher-level clearance as required.
Currently possess or have the ability to obtain a DoDD 8140.01 / DoD 8570.01-M IAT II or higher certification (e.g. CISSP, CASP+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CySA+, CCNA Security) in the first six months following employment; similarly possess or have the ability to obtain an Operating System certification.
Completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Cybersecurity/Information Assurance/Computer Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of related experience.
