What You'll Do

Lead the design and implementation of critical UI Engineering and UX foundational architecture. Own significant UI Engineering capabilities, drive architectural decisions, establish technical standards, and mentor other engineers to ensure our technology foundation scales with business growth. Key Responsibilities

Define and execute the technical vision for our UI architecture, championing declarative, configuration‑driven approaches that separate presentation logic from backend code. Lead and mentor a team of senior frontend engineers; write clean, maintainable code and review others following critical coding, design, and security standards. Collaborate with Product, Design, and Quality Engineering to align platform capabilities and user‑experience goals. Resolve technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and guide engineers on tools and techniques. Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for code and technical processes. Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and retrospectives to advance professional and technical skills. Architecture & Design

Design and implement critical UI components, features, and foundational systems. Shape overall application architecture through specifications and hands‑on code. Build and maintain enhanced UI frameworks tailored to AssetMark’s needs. Drive the target‑state UI architecture with strategic technical decisions. Author technical design documents for complex platform UI Engineering capabilities. Advanced Application Development

Create enterprise‑scale solutions for application governance and service integration. Implement large‑scale refactoring initiatives to improve code quality and performance. Design and implement standardized patterns for UI/UX, Backend for Frontend (BFF) integration, and cross‑application workflows. Establish and enforce design principles, versioning strategies, and governance models. Technical Leadership & Standards

Improve platform development practices and processes across teams. Teach engineers effective platform development and code‑review techniques. Help establish community practices around secure coding, data privacy, and design standards. Balance technical debt with platform evolution while maintaining reliability. Coordinate platform work across teams and resolve complex technical dependencies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

5+ years with React and deep understanding of component architecture, hooks, and state management. Experience designing and implementing enterprise‑scale platform systems. Track record of designing configuration‑driven or rules‑based UI systems. Experience with JSON Schema, declarative DSLs, or similar specification languages. Strong understanding of component architecture, state management, and frontend design patterns. Demonstrated history scaling engineering teams and processes in fast‑growing technology companies. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. 12+ years of software engineering experience with significant platform engineering focus. Experience in regulated industries, preferably financial services. Why Join AssetMark

Base salary range: $183,000 – $219,000. The position is eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship not available. Benefits
