Meet the Team
The Cisco Component Quality and Technology team provides outstanding customer value through technical innovation and quality solutions. We are seeking a driven and experienced technical expert in semiconductor components and their applications in high-speed systems. Devices we work with include ASICs, NPUs, CPUs, Ethernet switches, FPGAs, PHYs, retimers, etc. You will work directly with Cisco design, manufacturing, operations and quality engineering teams, as well as component vendors.
Your Impact
Conduct semiconductor component selection, testing, and qualification to meet product specifications.
Lead investigations and end-to-end failure analysis for component and system issues, working with vendors to define, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions (8D, RCCA, etc.)
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on component selection, risk assessment, design reviews, and proactively drive risk mitigation.
Analyze and influence vendor technology roadmaps in support of Cisco product development requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields
5+ years of experience in the semiconductor/networking/server/computer/embedded industry
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience in the semiconductor/networking/server/computer/embedded industry.
Experience with semiconductor components including ASICs, XPUs, FPGAs, PHYs, SerDes retimers.
Strong understanding of semiconductor design, fabrication, characterization, qualification, testing, quality, reliability, failure analysis
Experience collaborating with stakeholders including hardware and software engineering, operations and manufacturing.
Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive technical initiatives.
Experience with high‑speed design and hardware designs with x86 or ARM CPUs.
Knowledge of semiconductor device reliability testing methods, such as HTOL, ELFR, LU and ESD
Experience in investigating component failures across NPI, mass production, and field returns, with knowledge of sophisticated FA techniques.
Understanding of control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C.

1 paid day off for employee's birthday, paid year‑end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco
Non‑exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year
Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non‑sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.
