Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial close, and internal control processes. They will manage the financial results, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and transparency of all financial information for stakeholders. The role includes overseeing the close process and supporting the evolution of Tatcha’s financial capabilities to match a growing company. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Continue to lead and develop the high‑performing accounting team, fostering continuous learning and professional development. Collaborate with the CFO, VP of Strategic Finance, and executive team to align financial operations with strategic goals. Drive continuous improvement and optimize financial processes using technology and best practices. Serve as a key finance business partner to operational and functional leaders across the organization.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with US GAAP (or IFRS). Manage the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules, and general journal entries. Verify accounting postings for international entities (Hong Kong and Japan), including cross‑charges and eliminations. Lead the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements and other internal and external reports. Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard accounting and close processes and enhance reliability of financial information. Verify and post payroll runs as needed. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules. Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and FP&A to evaluate complex customer contracts and ensure proper accounting treatment. Partner with FP&A to support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Inventory
Provide strategic oversight of inventory activities, ensuring accurate costing methods, inventory reserve, accrued freight, and reconciliation of inventory received not billed. Partner with operations to develop policies and optimize processes.
Treasury
Assist FP&A group with working capital forecasting. Manage banking relationships and control requirements over bank accounts. Ensure optimal use of capital and manage financial risk through appropriate hedging strategies and policies.
Tax
Oversee all corporate tax functions, including income tax submissions, indirect taxes (sales tax, GST), and tax planning strategies. Manage relationships with external tax advisors and ensure compliance with global tax regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required, MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role 3+ years owning the accounting function and leading the team in a small to medium‑size company with >$50M revenue Experience in consumer goods industry (retail, wholesale, or manufacturing) is preferred International consolidation experience preferred Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and exposure to IFRS Highly proficient in Excel (pivot, VLOOKUP, IF/THEN, etc.) Experience using ERP systems and maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts. NetSuite experience is desirable Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive large‑scale transformation projects Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills The Details
