As a
SVP, Group Account Director , you will act as the executive lead for one of our most strategically important client relationships. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise client partnership, commercial growth, operational leadership, and creative production excellence. You’ll oversee a high-performing account, with major clients based in Chicago and vertical within a regional creative production ecosystem, acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders while driving innovation, margin growth, and long-term value. You’ll lead a cross‑functional team that includes account, creative, and operational talent, and ensure every facet of the relationship, from day‑to‑day delivery to long‑term transformation, is world‑class. You will be expected to set and execute a strategic growth agenda, penetrate new business units, and expand our footprint across business units, capabilities, and deliverables. Internally, you'll serve as a senior operator, designing and evolving workflows, scaling AI‑powered efficiencies, and partnering with executive leadership to shape the future of how we deliver.

Responsibilities
Own the client relationship including fiscal health and overall growth.
Identify new opportunities within current client relationships, understanding the full breadth of Monks’ capabilities and orchestrate compelling solutions for expansion and varying client needs.
Become a trusted partner, understanding clients’ business challenges and articulate strategies to address those needs.
Collaborate with subject matter expert colleagues to produce great work.
Set and manage processes related to account operations including finance, resourcing, forecasting, and client business reporting.
Drive organic growth by expanding into new departments, channels, and services.
Lead commercial negotiations and pricing strategy in partnership with finance and legal.
Represent the agency in executive‑level meetings, QBRs, and joint business planning sessions.
Lead production forecasting, resourcing strategy, and capacity planning in partnership with studio and operations leads.
Drive adoption of AI‑powered tools and platforms to unlock production speed, cost savings, and content personalization at scale.
Continuously refine and enforce scalable Ways of Working that maximize operational efficiency without compromising creativity.
Commercial & Strategic Growth
Set and deliver against revenue growth targets, margin optimization goals, and operational KPIs.
Shape proposals for new client engagements and cross‑sell opportunities.
Identify and capitalize on upsell opportunities across the account.
Creative Production Oversight
Lead large‑scale, multi‑format creative production programs, ensuring alignment with brand, channel, and business priorities.
Champion creative excellence while balancing speed, scalability, and cost‑efficiency.
Act as executive sponsor for key programs and campaign launches, ensuring integration across creative, production, and delivery.
People & Culture
Lead and mentor a team of senior account directors, fostering an environment of accountability, empowerment, and creativity.
Serve as a cultural ambassador, uphold the values of our collective, inspire your teams, and drive collaboration across regions and functions.
Support succession planning and talent development to build a sustainable leadership pipeline.
About You
15+ years of increasing levels of responsibility in marketing leadership positions at agencies and/or client organizations.
Minimum of two to three years agency experience within the last ten years of employment.
Leadership skills that inspire others to want to work with and for you.
Proven track record of managing and growing multi‑million dollar global accounts.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills that ensure our message is always clear and compelling to our client partners.
Multi‑channel digital‑first client campaign experience.
Experience managing direct reports.
Operationally minded and comfortable designing systems that scale across regions and capabilities.
Experience with CPG brand(s) is preferred but not required.

Salary Range: $175,000—$225,000 USD
