Job Description:
The electric eGIS team has undertaken a project to replace the legacy mapping systems with ArcFM, Schneider’s mapping platform. There is a need for additional QA/QC support for phase 1 and 2 of the project to alleviate workload within the team and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience using ESRI ArcMap; knowledge of Esri GIS preferred.
Proficiency in MXD building, spatial queries, and spatial analysis.
Experience within the utility environment.
Self‑starter, highly motivated, attentive, with integrity, energy, initiative, and resourcefulness.
Quick learner capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship and W2 employment is required.
Duties:
Perform multiple queries to validate accuracy of legacy mapping data migrated to an Esri mapping system.
Review land base symmetry and connectivity at structures to ensure cable connectivity is intact.
Examine attribute data for all linear and point features for electric and gas components.
Update map symbology and provide solutions as needed.
Test system functionality to ensure new mapping product works correctly.
Maintain organized primary database (Excel and other data) and assist in other eGIS projects as required.
Prioritize data tasks and manage timelines for data review.
Results Required:
Develop a thorough understanding of the eGIS project.
Acquire basic knowledge of the mapping systems.
Familiarize with company mapping processes, documents, and software programs.
Learn to read various types of electrical and gas maps.
