Job Description Amplytico is seeking a skilled Data Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data warehousing and lake housing, experience with modern data platforms, and the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical staff. This role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable in a consulting environment and capable of rolling up their sleeves to tackle complex data challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement data warehousing and lake housing solutions.
Transform legacy industrial systems into modern, accessible data platforms.
Utilize Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies to design and manage data solutions.
Collaborate with non-technical operational staff and leadership to understand and meet their data needs.
Connect disparate enterprise systems and construct data models that simplify data ecosystems.
Establish and maintain data governance frameworks for clients.
Support and lead teams of business intelligence analysts.
Host data requirement and fact-finding engagements with both operational and IT staff.
Manage architecture in diverse IT infrastructure environments with varying requirements, objectives, and governance.
Upskill less data-savvy staff on implementing governance, controls, and data modeling best practices.
Knowledge of ETL tools is a plus.
Knowledge of Power Platforms is a plus.
Qualifications Required Technical Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field; Master's preferred.
7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles.
Proven experience modernizing legacy industrial systems into cloud-based data platforms.
Expert knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Advanced experience with data warehouse technologies (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift).
Proficiency in data processing frameworks (Databricks, Spark, or similar).
Strong SQL skills and experience with multiple database technologies.
Experience implementing data governance frameworks and data quality standards.
Integration & Modeling Expertise
Demonstrated success connecting disparate enterprise systems.
Advanced data modeling skills and ability to simplify complex data ecosystems.
Experience with API integration and service-oriented architectures.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and processes (SSIS, ADF, Informatica, or similar).
3+ years of experience leading or mentoring BI/analytics teams.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience conducting data requirements gathering and documentation.
Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
Track record of successfully upskilling team members on data practices.
Additional Qualifications
Experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
Knowledge of data visualization tools and dashboard creation.
Understanding of industrial systems and operational technology (OT).
Experience with Agile methodologies and project management.
Certifications in relevant technologies (Microsoft, Snowflake, Databricks).
Work Location This position requires onsite presence at client locations and/or our San Francisco office up to 2 days per week. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is hybrid (partial remote/partial onsite) and is not eligible for full remote work.

Compensation As required by California law, the base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $125,000 to $195,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
