As a Senior Frontend Engineer for Growth at Checkr, you will play a crucial role in advancing Checkr’s self‑serve business, delivering products and capabilities for Checkr’s growth funnel: Acquisition, Activation, Expansion & Retention. Leveraging your deep experience, you will build, innovate, and inspire the team to bring a customer‑first mindset to the self‑serve experience and make it delightful for customers.
What you'll do:
Develop new customer experience capabilities and product offerings from design through release
Find the balance between speed to market and long‑term growth by designing for the horizon and building for today
Bring an iterative mindset to experiment, learn, and iterate to provide the best experience for the customers
Partner with Product to define appropriately sized initiatives to construct a roadmap that meets business needs quarter over quarter
Preserve customer goodwill by ensuring system availability by participating in on‑call rotation, addressing support tickets, and taking action on preventative measures to improve reliability
Provide mentorship to engineers on the team and across the organization
Play an active role in the continuous improvement of the engineering organization through lunch table discussions, team showcases, and reviews with senior leadership
What you bring:
5+ years of professional experience building web applications
Strong React skills — deep understanding of hooks, context, component patterns, and performance optimization
TypeScript proficiency in a production environment
Experience running A/B experiments and using data to inform product decisions
Ability to write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code
Excellent collaboration skills — comfortable working directly with Product Managers and Designers
Strong communication skills — can articulate technical tradeoffs to non‑technical stakeholders
Nice to Have:
Experience with experimentation platforms (Amplitude, Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Split)
Experience with state management patterns (Redux, React Query, Context)
Familiarity with CSS‑in‑JS (Styled Components)
Experience with feature flag systems
E2E testing experience (Cypress)

On‑target Earnings OR Base Salary range (San Francisco, CA)
$183,000 - $215,000 USD
On‑target Earnings OR Base Salary range (Denver, CO)
$155,000 - $182,000 USD
At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. Individuals are expected to work from the office 2 to 3 days a week. Starting January 2026, hub‑based employees will be expected to work from the office 3 days per week. In‑office perks are provided, such as lunch four times a week, a commuter stipend, and an abundance of snacks and beverages. A relocation stipend may be available for those willing to relocate to a Checkr hub location.
